How
did Progressive Insurance start?
Progressive
Insurance was founded in 1937 by two enterprising entrepreneurs
named Joseph Lewis and Jack Green. Their goal was to provide vehicle owners
with peace of mind that their valuable assets were protected, and since then, Progressive Insurance Company has grown
to become one of the top insurance providers in the country.
True to the name, Progressive Insurance has been the first to offer convenient options like installment-based premium plans and no-muss, no-fuss drive-in claim outlets, which are sure to revolutionize the way car insurance works. Has come a long way. complete. Progressive Insurance continues to expand the wide range of services they provide to help make life easier for their customers.
Types
of Coverage by Progressive Insurance
Progressive Ins offers four main types of
coverage: liability, comprehensive and collision, uninsured and under insured
motorists, and roadside assistance.
Liability
coverage
Liability coverage covers property damage and
injury to others resulting in vehicle accidents, and is required by most
states. Covered situations include medical bills and court fees as well as
damage to vehicles, property, and others.
Comprehensive
and collision coverage
Comprehensive and collision coverage will pay
for repair or replacement of the vehicle if the insured has caused an accident,
regardless of fault. However, these are different types of insurance.
Comprehensive insurance covers events beyond one's control, such as a deer or
tree branch hitting a car; Collision insurance covers accidents involving other
vehicles or inanimate objects, such as an accident in a fender bender or pole.
Comprehensive, which is deductible, also
covers damages caused by theft, vandalism, fire, or other acts of nature.
Uninsured
and under insured motorists
Uninsured and under insured insurance covers
accidents caused by drivers without or insufficient insurance protection.
Specifically, uninsured insurance covers the insured who is hit by another
driver without any auto insurance, while the under insured covers the insured
who is struck by a person who has enough to pay for damages or injuries. There
is no coverage. The uninsured and under insured are treated interchangeably and
are mandatory in many states.

assistance

How to File a Claim with Progressive
Insurance?
Obviously, the best-case scenario is that you
never have to file a claim, but life happens. If you are involved in an
accident or something happens to your vehicle that is covered under the
coverage options provided by your progressive insurance policy, the first thing
to do is to arrive as soon as possible.
The easiest way to do this is online or
through their mobile app, but it's also possible to call to speak to an agent.
Be prepared to provide the following details:
• Location, date and time of accident
• Names, addresses, phone numbers and
insurance policy numbers of any other person involved
• Summary of weather conditions
• Photo evidence of accident site and damage
• Any relevant copies of police and/or
accident reports
Now that you've filed your claim, review your
policy so you know what to expect. Knowing and understanding your insurance
coverage will help you work hand in hand with your adjuster to find the best
possible solution given the circumstances.
Once your claim is approved, you can proceed
with repairs and secure a replacement vehicle if it is part of your coverage
plan.
